[Asterisk-Users] Spurious ring burst on TDM400 FXS port

G'day all,

A weird problem has just started happening with my * server, and I've
googled myself stupid looking for help. My system is latest CVS, a
TDM400P with two FXS modules, two X101Ps, and VoIP connections (SIP, SCCP
& IAX2).

My wife complained about her extension (analogue, on one of the TDM400
ports) being dead -- no dialtone. I had to shut down *, then unload and
reload the zaptel modules and restart * to get her line going again. Now,
exactly five seconds after the phone is put on-hook, we get a short ring
burst.

"What did you change", I hear you cry? NOTHING. I've been doing support
for too long to not have an answer to that ;). Seriously, the last
time I changed any of this was earlier in the week when I tweaked the
[rt]xgain values, and the phone has been working okay since then. She was
using the phone earlier in the day with no problems, but after the recycle
of * to get her line back we get this consistently.

The ring burst also happens five seconds after * starts up (specifically,
I guess, five seconds after chan_zap initialises).

Things I've tried to resolve this:

* re-restarted * and the zaptel modules numerous times
* power cycled the box numerous times
* updated zaptel and asterisk code
* removed "mailbox=" from zapata.conf for that channel (based on some data
that I found during googling)
* switched the phone to the other TDM port - prob appears on either port
* changed from loopstart to kewlstart and back

None of these has helped.

Please, folks, any information that anyone has out there that could help,
I'd really appreciate it.

advTHANKSance,
Vic Cross
