No matter what I try, Asterisk won't let me out of the console. If I
CTRL+C, of course, the process will terminate.

I started asterisk like so:

/usr/sbin/asterisk -vvvvgc

and here's what I get when I 'exit':

*CLI> exit
The QUIT and EXIT commands may no longer be used to shutdown the PBX.
Please use STOP NOW instead, if you wish to shutdown the PBX.
*CLI>
*CLI>

CTRL+D doesn't work either. What's going on?
I am getting a bunch of these:

Apr 3 20:06:08 WARNING[6151]: chan_sip.c:5632 sipsock_read: Recv error:
Resource temporarily unavailable
Apr 3 20:06:08 WARNING[6151]: chan_sip.c:5632 sipsock_read: Recv error:

Apr 3 20:06:15 WARNING[6151]: chan_sip.c:5632 sipsock_read: Recv error:

Here's what I get wtih CTRL+D

*CLI>
*CLI> ^D
Use STOP NOW to shutdown Asterisk
*CLI>

Thanks in advance!
