Mark's right but note that if you write an application for a client,
then that is "distributing" and the provision in the GPL applies.
Only if you keep it to yourself. If you wrote it for use within your
company then you are OK. We must assume that because the person
posting
the question was concerned about if he had to put his work under GPL
that he intends to distribute his work. People who do not distribute
software don't normally worry about licenses.
If the above assumption is correct, than Mark's comments, while correct
would not apply.
Watch it, because anyone who has ever sent a patch that made it to
CVS would have interrest in seeing that no one re-sells their work.
Like I said before. If your application is written such that Asterisk
is "just another PBX" that your application can talk to then you pass
the test and are not bound by Asterisk's GPL. But you can always ask
RMS directly.
