[Asterisk-Users] Comments? Supermicro P4SGE P4 FCPGA MB and Digium cards

Well, I'm using a Supermicro 5012B-E chassis with a P4SBE (the older
version: 400 MHz) together with an E100P and it works fine.

Had no problems whatsoever with hardware or installing Linux (SuSE in
this case). It's not been under full load yet.

Perhaps you can go for that board, will be cheaper too. Depending on
your use of course, but I believe the difference will not be that much.

Just make sure you set up the zaptel and zapata.conf correctly.

Ivar.

Onderwerp: [Asterisk-Users] Comments? Supermicro P4SGE P4 FCPGA MB and
Digium cards

I'm wondering if anyone has had any good/bad/indifferent experiences
with Supermicro P4SGE P4 FCPGA motherboards and Digium cards? I'm
looking to use this MB in an E100P E1 card solution, and I haven't
had the ability to test with that configuration before I ship a
system overseas (since I don't have an E1 to plug into it, it's hard
for me to test, and I don't have the financial depth to do a
back-to-back E1 card test.)

Any comments on running Asterisk or Digium cards in this type of system?

I had asked a more general question a week or two ago, and got good
responses from various people on the quality of the SuperMicro boards
and systems, but nobody had quite yet implemented Digium cards or
Asterisk in those systems. The only comment I can find regarding
SuperMicro in specific reference to telephony cards is a post from
Feb 21, in which Victor Sanchez reports problems getting his E400P
cards working in a P4SGA motherboard. I don't see any followup to
his post.
