I think it's something more specific than that...  I am running * with a 
T100P on a cheapass all-in-one Duron1300 system with a RAID card but only 
being used for the extra channels -- two 60G drives in Linux software RAID1 
running off the card.

The box also runs a Postgres database, web server and some hefty Perl 
scripts for the intranet and I've never had problems like what you 
described.  Are you sure you didn't have the IDE channel(s) and the T100P 
on the same interrupt or something odd like that?
