Well just to round out the opinion-set: I have several of the 101s, and 
I use two of them every day for pretty much every call I make.

There are a few things about them that are suboptimal: low speakerphone 
volume and the need to press the buttons squarely, but overall I think 
they're a fine instrument for the money, and we haven't had any issues 
with them whatsoever.

So I suppose it all comes down to what you're trying to do with them; 
mine are simple station instruments that don't do anything fancy with 
the f/w.
