The inclusion of the configuration service functionality as well as IPv6 has
made the merging with the work done for supporting NAT features too daunting
to be reviewed and vetted in a single go. Instead the modifications will be
introduced into this branch and review in logical steps. This should help
avoid obvious errors and regressions with the media component... which is
quite well tested and stable at this time.
