[asterisk-dev] pbx_findapp() equivalent for functions?

Is there a function for modules to be able to find functions in other 
modules?  Similar to how you can locate an external app with pbx_findapp()?

I did quite a bit of digging and haven't found one.

And is there a design reason why one doesn't exist already, ie, running 
a function from another module might cause bad behavior for some reason?
