I personally disagree with this advice. It just makes a frequently
required setup more complicated than it needs to be. Also type=peer is
sufficient for sip service providers

Again I think it would be better to have one peer in this simple case.
There are other cases where multiple services are required from one
provider each of which needs an outbound registration. In those cases
each peer would be setup with a different callback extension and work is
underway to distinguish incoming calls from the same host based on the
callbackextension
