[asterisk-dev] Insulting source code comments in main/channel.c

The comment that (almost zero) people seem to be irritated by has been in Asterisk for 8 years and 2 months.  It looks like it was in version 0.1.9, making it one of the oldest pieces of Asterisk around.  Many people from all walks of life have looked at that code w/o issue for nearly a decade.  Everyone has the right to feel offended, but groups of people also have the right to decide whether or not such offense is actually warranted.  Public opinion seems to be on the side of the "there is no reason to be offended by this comment" camp.  For me, the comment embodies some of the jovial good natured discourse that is the hallmark of this community.  I speak only as myself and not on behalf of Digium, but as a long-time Asterisk user and developer I can't imagine that anyone would seriously believe that Mark Spencer was trying to insult anyone with his comment.
