It was a bug, but should be working now. Was fixed Friday in 191488.

As far as I know there was no bug filed as the issue was reported to me
directly. This case seems to be a good example of why developers should
create a Mantis issue if one doesn't exist for commits fixing a problem. I
think I'll make that practice a habit from now on.
