[asterisk-dev] url in dial command

Hi,

I cannot understand the meaning of the url parameter inside the dial 
command. What is it for? I read on internet it can be used by some 
devices to give info about the queues but found nothing about these 
devices. What kind of devices are they? I messed a bit with channel.c 
code and it seems that the URL can be used with IAX devices only...is it 
true?
