[asterisk-dev] H323 64 bit Nightmare

As some of you know, pbxinaflash.net now has one-click ISO installs for
64-bit versions of Asterisk 1.4 and 1.6-beta. While the jury is still out, I
think it would be fair to say that there are numerous quirks, gotchas, and
workarounds that have to be addressed to do even "standard things" on the
64-bit platform. The good news is that we have a lot of people testing the
64-bit versions now that never would have touched it if they had had to
manually build the version from source. So hopefully there will be some good
feedback in the coming months that moves things forward. You certainly
cannot beat the performance. And it's hard to go back to the 32-bit flavor
of Asterisk once you've tried the steroids version.
