[asterisk-dev] [non]optimized builds

Hello.

I noticed that for every third stacktrace posted on mantis first reply is "please recompile with DON'T_OPTIMIZE". So I thought it may be really useful making DONT_OPTIMIZE on by default. There was some discussion on IRC and eventually I was advised to post this to list because "policy changes like this need wider forum".

So if anyone has clear picture what is wrong with builds DONT_OPTIMIZEd by default, please share.
