We also have 10 developers actively working and contributing patches to 1.2 that will continue to do so till 1.4 reaches a more mature stage. We will continue testing 1.4 in our QC environment and report the found bugs, but we focus on our customers and we can't leave 1.2 development for now.

I can share a user experience here (i'm not really much into
development of asterisk).

I've been migrating to 1.4 twice - first attempt was unsuccessful
(1.4.3), however second gave great stability (1.4.10). I also wanted
migration to occur as fast as possible, because it really pays off to
work with debugging and bug-fixing latest version, not obsolete one. I
delayed all the major product development, until migration of 1.4

Currently 1.4 is really stable for me - works like a dream. I've found
one unstable point - using MeetMe, and currently i'm working to
provide good bug-report, but that's all the problems.

So, i would suggest to keep trying latest versions of 1.4, as there is
really work going on, and stability issues are getting fixed.

Regards,
Atis
