More or less privately, I asked for advise on how code
could be put in modules, that could be used by other modules.
Russell answers and thought this info might benefit the 
community, so I post the question/response here...

Put the code in some module, M.so, and set that module to export symbols.  See
multiple examples in the res directory for this.
