Please consider revising your viewpoint; I have seen _many_ very talented
people abandon work on open source projects due to insensitive treatment
and these folks have decades of experience (since FIDONET and UUCP networks
at a minimum). If one is being paid to make open source contributions
it may appear they have "thick skin" and perhaps that is the state of the
key participants in this project, however the volunteer working gratis is
not accorded the anodyne of remuneration.

Every user and programmer deserves at least a clear statement of purpose
and criteria for the use of mailing lists and development resources;
in the absence of these, there will be a lower signal to noise ratio
on lists.  There is never an excuse for bad treatment of people.
