You need to be very specific about what everything including versions. I
believe there are 20+ releases under the 1.2.x branch. A lot has been
done from time to time about bugs. Not being specific doesn't help you
get a good answer.

BTW, using top is not a good measurement of memory. Things that don't
change and aren't used get moved to swap. Many other factors combine to
make using top similar to using a telescope to view the ant at your
feet.
