[asterisk-dev] Slow to play outbound messages

Hi, all:

 

We have a system making a large number of outbound calls using Asterisk
1.2.4. When the call completes, Asterisk plays a message. There's a Windows
box using the AGI interface to make the calls happen. When the system gets
loaded, about 15 - 20 simultaneous calls, the messages are delayed by up to
10 or 15 seconds.

 

Has anyone else seen this? Do you have ideas about what causes it?

 

Some more details:

 

1.	No transcoding is going on
2.	Asterisk box has 1 BG of RAM, CPU load never gets above 5%
3.	There are no errors in the Asterisk logs
