in my opinion it is a disadvantage, because you need to follow the 
changes in zaptel/libpri always. So if something changes there, you'll 
need to adapt it everytime => small bri-stuff developer comunity

anyway it fixes probably zaptel bugs which could be an advantage

just try both! you'll probably have less trouble in porting a hisax card 
driver to mISDN. But you can port it also to zaptel.
In both environments you'll have advantages and disadvanteges.

(Probably we should setup a "facts page" on Wiki for bristuff/misdn ?)
