Are you sure the intercom/doorbell is PSTN connected to general use home 
phones ?
If a user changes his phone number, you would have to reprogram the 
intercom/doorbell.
A dedicated cabling between doorbell and dedicated phones remains valid as 
long as the flat number remains.
