Did you consider the idea that the telco guy gave you busy work to get
off the phone? He gave you a glimmer of hope you could turn elsewhere
for the information.

Please don't take that as discouragement. I'm sure it would be
cool/interesting to turn around and get your telco to support it.

BTW, This did seem more appropriate here than -user. You actually are
intending to get code into asterisk right....
