[Asterisk-Dev] Send tone to caller on answer

I've been asked to configure Asterisk to send a tone back to the caller 
when the call is answered - to indicate answer supervision.

I asked about this on the users list with no results. There does not seem 
to be anything in the dialplan apps that would permit this.

I am considering modifying the Dial app to do this.

Has anybody done this before? Is there interest in it?  Am I missing 
something?
