Yes I am going to be a smartass here. 

You are trying to offload your work (changing dialplan) to developer
work(fix bug in new kernels) for a technology that was interesting but
has withered on the vine due to IAX trunking being a more efficient
protocol. Don't you think the developers have enough on their plate as
it is getting 1.2 out the door?
