Busy Hour Call Attempts

It's a measure used to compare switches (traditional and soft) in terms
of the number of call attempts they can handle in a given period of
time. As opposed to saying "our switch can handle 10,000 calls", which
could mean anything from 10,000 simultaneous calls that were initiated
once per second to 10,000 simultaneous call attempts...

It's not uncommon for large telco switches to have BHCA numbers of
1,000,000 or more :-)
