I would have no opposition to changing the default config files (the 
samples) to have these #include statements, as long as it doesn't make 
the startup process 'noisy' when no matching files are found.

Also keep in mind this will have little or no effect on existing 
installations, since people generally don't run 'make samples' with a 
working system :-)
