[Asterisk-Dev] Asterisk Compile Problem on Red Hat 9

I just got precisely the same error.  The problem in my case was that the
file mkdep had dos style line terminations instead of Unix style.  This
happened because I obtained and extracted the sources on a Windows system
and then copied it over to my Linux machine.
