This is not directly related to Asterisk, and in fact may be 
"competitive".  However, it is worth reading at least to understand 
that we're not the only ones who have figured out that DSPs are dying.

There are also some interesting comparative numbers in there (look in 
the PDF's) for channels per chassis, etc.   Too bad Intel would never 
release the code to GPL, despite the fact that it directly enhances 
their processor sales (which one would assume would be the primary 
goal of developing the code...)
