Yeah, that's been a common theme with FC3 for a while now... the newer 
udev packages won't work with the older kernel packages, and the FC4 
upgrade is 'non-trivial' :-(

If you can find a udev-05X package for FC3 that would probably be new 
enough without forcing you to do a kernel upgrade.
