There is a saying: good software is written twice.

The first time to find out what you actually want, and the second time to 
do what you actually want.

I think your code will be helpful in finding what we actually want, and 
will provide a learning base for what works. The thing is, we have to be 
prepared to move on from old code.

A spec is required on video packetization (in my view), as it helps 
crystalize our thoughts on how video should be done. 

I think we need to sharpen our thinking, and get video done in a sane, 
sensible and simple (read mainatable/understable) fashion.

We also need to write a spec based on what any sample implementations 
teach us.

On the topic of implementing video, I note that openh323 has all the video
display,grabber routines we need. And, Openh323 also has H261 (and h263)  
codecs. And, Openh323 video routines have been well tested/proven in
Gnomemeeting.

 I do not understand why you wrote your own SDL display code.
