Forget that damn adress space. That's not the main issue for * developers.

Some good features for * developers
1) multicast scope
Imagine you are doing conferences via multicast on a certain scope. Nowadays 
you have to use a VLAN to do stuff like that in a tricky way.

2) Quality of service (QoS)
Real quality of service for real-time applications. With IPv4 you cannot meet 
hard realtime constraints and certainly nobody wants his call to be disturbed 
just because someone starts a big file transfer.

3) Authentication, Encryption etc.
How nice would it be to replace this addon workarounds for ipv4. In my 
situation we haven't used asterisk in stable environment yet, because it 
lacks those features. IPv6 could solve this problem at a much lower layer of 
OSI than SIPS and SRTP do it which is fine because is means we could encrypt 
a lot of traffic even the voicemail stuff. Imagine you want to send secure 
email for billing. You wouldn't even have to think about which security 
protocol applies to email if you're on the same network.
