I have been having some false ring detection problems with my TDM400 card.
I'm running the current CVS zap drives. I tried chaning the PEGCOUNT
and then found it only matters if AUDIO_RINGCHECK is enabled. So I
enabled it and things just got worse. So I went back to register
detected rings.

Looking at the wctdm.c code and Si3050 docs and I noticed that register
24 does not seem to be modified after the reset. Bit D7 enables ring
validation in hardware. This would seem to be a good thing. I also noticed
that some other registers are set/reset that don't seem to be documented
or don't match the comments.

So, is there a reason not to enable ring validation in hardware?
Or is it enabled somewhere and I just don't see it?
