I think here is a missunderstanding. I talk about chan_bt, not about a
client.
The GSM phone used as an external line for Asterisk can be in the Servers
room at 10m distance from the server.

Why do you try to include IAX in this scheme?
BT must be a  completely separate channel.

Asterisk <--> chan_bt <--> BT dongle <--> BT phone


There's the bluetooth-presence stuff alredy floating around, see
