@--> I don't think its that... I think oej and steve mean well and training
@--> wouldn't be a bad thing really. My major issue was the wording of the
@--> release and the prices.
I think they mean well, but they're also trying to monopolize the training.
I think it would be wrong of Digium to give one training house the sole
right to issue a Digium certification.
It is up to Steve and Ollie to create the #1 training house through
excellent curriculum and pass rate.
Digium should certify trainers who are authorize to administer the Digium
certification test.
I own the consulting house, Asteria Solutions Group, Inc.
www.asteriasgi.com, and I honestly believe I could lose business to
consultants who have a Dcap certification when they know 1% of the
collective knowledge at my firm.
I also don't think it's fair to take all of the people who work so hard on
this project and tell them, "Thanks for all the work. Go get your
certification from Astricon in whatever fashion they decide you have to do
it. Please drive through."
Perhaps there's a scaling problem for Digium and they're not putting the
curriculum together to accomplish this. Maybe Steve and Ollie came in and
pitched an idea that looked good on paper, but it just doesn't seem fair to
anyone beyond Astricon. The Astricon website makes me think the deal isn't
even fair for Digium.
Stepping off the soap-box,
