It's really too bad that IP Multicast has never been utilized to its 
potential... there are a great number of applications on the Internet 
whose bandwidth consumption would be drastically reduced if they used 
multicast.

Too keep this vaguely on-topic, the 3Com NBX phone system (which can use 
either voice-over-Ethernet or voice-over-IP) does use multicast when 
there are conference calls, or for background music. It works quite well 
(but it's nearly the only feature of that system that does work quite 
well <G>).
