I'll stop talking to myself in a moment - but I'm away tomorrow so just
want to capture this thought for Friday:

A bridging machine could collect lag measurement just by "noticing"
LAGRP frames as they go by in forward_delivery. They have timestamps by
"our" clock in them (at least until we change them for forwarding) so we
can quickly grab a lag measurement as it goes by.
