I am not sure, but I think that the problem is
on mISDN kernel driver (I suppose you use it).
If you get the cable off, and you try to connect,
mISDN doesn't communicate correct via layers1 to 3.
I had informed Keil (the author of mISDN), and he 
said that something was probably missing in layer3....
