Moo,
Over the last few weeks I have been workign on SCCP support for asterisk for a
client. Sadly, at the time when I started I didn't know JerJer/Jeremy was
also working on one, and found out a few days into working on it.
As the customer I am developing this for requires full support on the code, I
am anyway going to have to continue development. As all code I write (even
for customers) is GPL'ed, I am making it avalible now Jeremy has added his
into CVS, so hopefully my code may come in useful to him and anyone else
working on that code, to aid in the development of his chan_skinny, hance I
am releasing it.
If it doesn't, the worst that can happen is there are two choices to use for
SCCP, something I have been told today may potentionally be bad, because of
the previous H323 problems, so, if anyone wants to report any problems, or
have any questions with it please specify explicitly you are using chan_sccp,
otherwise it should be assumed you are using asterisk's standard SCCP code,
JerJer's chan_skinny.
I would suggest however that you stay with Jeremy's chan_skinny, unless there
is a paticurlar thing that doesn't work for you. Features in mine that are
not in chan_skinny I will anyway try to provide a patch for to JerJer when i
get around to if jermey doesn't feel like adding himself, so chances are
chan_skinny will always remain the better option ;)
Notes:
- As chan_skinny is now in CVS, and it loads by default, you will need to
enter the following into /etc/asterisk/modules.conf:
noload => chan_skinny.so
to stop it using the port, and make it avalible to chan_sccp.
- Although we've been testing it on internal calls for the last few days,
it's still rather buggy, and missing a few features. Drop me an email if you
find anything out of the ordinary.
