This is a question you always have to ask when you're retrieving an arbitrary channel in a channel thread and locking/accessing it in some manner. In particular when said logic can be executed by both channels. Understanding the full ramifications of that is important, otherwise someone can just stumble upon such issue in production, deadlock, and kaboom.
