Daniel Essin created ASTERISK-29304:
---------------------------------------

             Summary: Caller filtering
                 Key: ASTERISK-29304
                 URL: https://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-29304
             Project: Asterisk
          Issue Type: New Feature
      Security Level: None
          Components: .Release/Targets
    Affects Versions: 18.2.1
         Environment: Some linux
            Reporter: Daniel Essin

I'm totally new here and don't have anything setup because I don't know if Asterisk is capavle of doing what I want.

I have an analog landline and analog phones.
I want a system that will intercept incoming calls, check the caller id based on area code and 3 digit prefix, and block calls tha match a block list.
I have plenty of hardware available, but anticipate using a raspberry pi.

I don't know what kind of ATA adapter would be required to do this nor do I know if Asterisk is capable of being used to filter incoming pstn while allowing outboind pstn to pass through.

I may have gotten all the terminology wrong because I really know nothing about this kind of telephony yet.

Help would be greatly appreciated
