------------------------------------------------------------------------

I should provide a few details on the packet capture I uploaded. This was an inbound fax coming from +16517771722 at 66.62.196.234:5060 to our Asterisk server at +16514396653 at 216.17.0.219:5060. The fax servers trained down to 9600 before we were able to successfully receive the pages. After receiving the EOP we sent a MCF and received a DCN which ended the fax transmission, however Asterisk said the fax failed. Here are the FAXOPT values:

Fax ECM: no
Fax Error: NO_ERROR
Fax File: /ravon/tmp/faxes/fax__6517771722__tireProz-mjthorsen__1381606497.tiff
Fax Files: /ravon/tmp/faxes/fax__6517771722__tireProz-mjthorsen__1381606497.tiff
Fax Header:
Fax Local StationID: Mark Thorsen
Fax Max Rate: 14400
Fax Min Rate: 2400
Fax Modem: V17,V27,V29
Fax Pages: 4
Fax Rate: 9600
Fax Remote Station ID: 651 777 1722
Fax Resolution: 204x196
Fax Status: FAILED
Fax Verbose Status: FAX_FAILURE_PARTIAL
Fax Channel Status: FAILED
Fax Channel Error: NO_ERROR
Fax Channel Pages: 4

Any input on how to resolve this issue and get Asterisk to report it correctly as a successful fax would be greatly appreciated.

> We are often seeing this error 'FAX_FAILURE_PROTOCOL_ERROR' message when sending and receiving faxes. There are not many details, but I will attach the fax debug and t.38 capture output for one example. Please let me know if there is any more information you need.
