[Asterisk-bsd] is there bsd analog for "modprobe wctdm24xxp opermode=BULGARIA"

I can't say much about the Digium hardware except those I've spoken with about it tell me they work great, at least here in the USA.

My setup uses a FreeBSD-7.1-STABLE server with Asterisk-1.4.21 and Zaptel-1.x. Sorry I don't have the correct zaptel version but it is not the latest. I also use an X101P analog PCI card that I connect to the PSTN phone jack in my house. This setup work just fine.

When I tried to update my system recently I found out that the wcfxo and wcfxs modules had been removed from the new zaptel port. So I had to go back to my old setup. I then tried Fedora with Asterisk-1.6 and the latest Dahdi. This worked fine until I tried to use my IP phones to make or receive calls from the PSTN. The echo was loud and made calls annoying. The calle on the other end could not hear it but I could here quite loudly on my end. I switched back to my old setup and all is quite again. It would be nice if someone would put these modules back into the zaptel port or someone could tell me how to tweak Dahdi with the Fedora setup to eliminate the echo. Nothing I tried yet has worked.

Now to bore the squad with my latest development:

I could no longer afford AT&T's high price for phone service. My ISP and cable provider Comcast was offering digital phone service with unlimited long distance for only $19.95 per month or about $85 a month less than AT&T so I switched. Comcast switched out my old cable modem with a new one which has an RJ-11 jack which the tech plugged into one of the wall jacks. This simple hookup then made all the other wall jacks in the house connected to Comcast's phone service. It works great and has over 12 calling features including voice mail. So I shut down my asterisk server in favor of this device. It would be nice to still have the features of my old asterisk server, especially conferencing and MOH, but since this was always just for my personal use, I can learn to live without them. I do plan on trying to hook my asterisk server into this new Comcast setup but it requires hacking which I don't have time for at the moment.

Hello guys

I am still fighting to get Digium TDM410 with four FXOs working on freebsd.
I  got  it  working  with  asterisk  1.4.24 + zaptel 1.4.11 (both from
ports) on FreeBSD 7.2, but I am having voice quality and echo problems.

I was reading http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/TDM400P
and it seems that I may be in the situation:
"While the TDM400P is certified for many countries, simply specifying the loadzone will not set your card up to suit local line imedences etc.
This  can  lead  to echo or bad sound quality even with agressive echo
cancelation."

so on linux setting fxo_mode is done with
modprobe wctdm24xxp opermode=BULGARIA
but  I  need  the some kind of analog for this command for freebsd, or
any way to set fxomode.

In message log i got this:
Jun 18 16:58:10 test kernel: Port 1: Installed -- AUTO FXO (FCC mode)
Jun 18 16:58:11 test kernel: Port 2: Installed -- AUTO FXO (FCC mode)
Jun 18 16:58:11 test kernel: Port 3: Installed -- AUTO FXO (FCC mode)
Jun 18 16:58:12 test kernel: Port 4: Installed -- AUTO FXO (FCC mode)

i need it
AUTO FXO (BULGARIA mode)

yes there is bulgaria in fxo_modes.h  :)

Please help!

Thanks in advance,
Georgi Iovchev
