Amsterdam, The Netherlands - October 15, 2009 - Dutch services provider
NeoNova BV today announced that the download version of their Astium(R)
product is available on their servers starting October, 15.
NeoNova will offer its VoIP PBX product Astium(R) for free. The PBX
supports a range of communication technologies including PSTN, ISDN,
Dect, VoIP (SIP/IAX), Wi-Fi, GSM and fax. The software can be downloaded
from www.astium.nl.
The Astium(R) is being widely used by large corporate accounts in
Europe. All features of this release are fully enabled. The Astium(R)
supports Dutch, UK English, US English languages. The wide variety of
features include: a unique user-friendly interface, auto-provisioning of
almost all phone brands, multi-tenanting, an enterprise class operator
panel, call center agent software, extensive manuals, and many enterprise
features like automatic fallback, profile based call forwarding,
and much more.
NeoNova offers potential customers the opportunity to experience the
full power and flexibility of the product. Ron Arts, CEO: “We are
convinced of the power of our Astium. But PBXes are critical for
companies, and to build trust by letting customers try everything out
is very important to us. We made download and installation a breeze, and
any reasonably experienced IT Person can start immediately trying out
features. You only need a couple of SIP phones.”
Astium vs. Asterisk
The Astium(R) PBX uses the famous Open Source software Asterisk at its
core. Ron Arts: “Asterisk is a great product, but it's not a PBX. The
Astium uses a different paradigm, it is not a wrapper around Asterisk,
but rather a standalone PBX product, which uses Asterisk as the voice
processor, comparable in architecture to a web application using Apache
as it's HTTP router. This is a significant difference in approach and
results in a more manageable, understandable and flexible product.”
The Astium is known in some circles as IP Business Manager. Please note
this is only the internal name used at a very well-known corporate
customer.
