Well my broker is vendor agnostic and gets his clients the best deals
to fit their needs.  He deals directly with the inside salespeople on
a regular (daily) basis.

Because he steers so much business, I have yet to get a quote directly
from the telco that beat one of his quotes.

If he cannot beat the price, he has always at least matched it, but
with better terms.  A one year contract rather than three years,
installation fees waived, better minutes package, more DIDs, or
whatever.
