about the same time sprint united telephone (sprint bought out a small ilec
in NJ called united) told customers that T1s were only for phone companies
and you had to be certified to get them for either voice or what they
claimed was non-existant data (they insisted data wasnt passable on a T1).
Sales people sometimes do stuff that causes the tech reputation to be
harmed.
