You are very confused (tm).

PCI-X is fully compatible with standard PCI. PCI-X is a 64-bit extension. 
Any PCI card (with appropriate voltage) will fit in the PCI-X slot. 

Your problem is voltage. PCI-X is usually 3V. Your card is probably 5V.  
However, there are cards from both Digium and Sangoma that support 3V.  
Get those.
