[asterisk-biz] Slightly OT - Covad VOA

If I have it right, Covad only sells their own hosted VoIP solution on a
retail basis. They won't offer that solution to the wholesalers, but
they do offer the transport piece (these VOA circuits) to the
wholesalers.

So I guess my answer would be "similar, but different". You're right,
they have no real Asterisk knowledge. When we sell these we (NetLogic)
provide the Asterisk support and help interfacing everything. We open
tickets with Covad when needed for circuit down issues.

My guess is that you weren't a suitable candidate because you already
had your own PBX (Asterisk) and they didn't want to deal with
interfacing to it.

We have a T1 with Covad and I never heard of this product.  At one time
Covad did call me and try to sell me on their VOIP product that works
with
my data T1, but after some research they said I was not a suitable
candidate
(I forgot the reason).  I mentioned Asterisk to the technical guys and
they
had no clue what it was.  

So, my question is: Is this the same thing as their VOIP that they were
trying to sell about 1 year ago?

Two things:

1) This is a real T1 loop and not something pushed over SDSL on a copper
pair? That is so important because the telco has to fix a T1 but when
the copper pair does not work for dsl provider has to order a new loop
and hope it works.

2) Is there a good SLA that goes with this?
