[asterisk-biz] I there any Asterisk based TELCO solution?

Some days ago I was talking with a friend who
asked me if Asterisk and the others GPL project
could be used for a carrier solution.

In particular this guy was looking for a solution
that could manage also the SS7 protocol
(SS7=signalling system #7), that could result in
an telco operator solution.

Have you heard of something like that?
