I've used inphonex for a year now and they seem to have a decent system
in place. And except for the one time when one of those hurricanes hit
Miami - service has been up fairly well - touch wood
they also have a good in-house fraud detection which calls the end user
if a few high-risk conditions are met (useful for international
sign-ups) but i don't know if they offer the same service for their
resellers.
yes: min and DIDs cost higher than others - but their termination
quality (voice, ASR) esp to US and Canada are good. UK, Australia and
Middle east decent, had some trouble with the quality to other
countries. and they offer G.729 support as well. and you get call
forwarding (web interface), call waiting, VM, VM-to-email and a bunch of
such things.
But: they don't allow sending your own caller id - so unless your DIDs
are bought from them, the caller id for calls made from your inphonex
account shows 588xxxxxxx (588 is their 'VoIP' area code)
Calls among inphonex customers are free - so you can practically run
your own phone company :)
the reseller sign-up fee is only $200. you buy pre-paid in bulk and
distribute the way you want, package and repackage your minutes,
plans... wow!!
i haven't found anyone else who will let me do all that and White Label
for such a low fee.
if you are in the mood to spend in thousands, you may as well set up
your own termination with your own softswitches and the like. (Since
this is asterisk-biz, Shameless plug: if interested in the above, pl
email me off-list)
And usual disclaimers: i don't work for them, i haven't invested in the
company and they are not receiving a Bcc or any copy of this email nor
do i get a kick-back if any one of signs up.
