I take it you are going for the biggest ass poster?
But you are right it was not Level3, fortunately. I got the two mixed
up.
Why the heavy attitude on people? It would had been much nicer to say
Hey I
think you got them mixed up... Fostering a friendly environment is

When you are accusing others of being clueless, you submit to higher
standards for your own cluelessness. In other words, when you dish it
out, you better be ready to take it.

I would echo Alex's comments, for the most part. Actually, my experience
in buying IP connectivity from them has been pretty solid as well, but
that was back before they tanked. They had some VERY good engineers (in
our area, at least) who could and did make things work very well. Their
sales departments however, were a model of disorganization. From our
point of view, there was too much top-down, "you must get approval of
everything", style management going on there. Kind of like buying a car;
"You're KILLING me here, but I'll take it to the sales manager and...."
FWIW, I will happily deal with inefficient sales processes IF, at the
end of the day, I get solid service at fair prices.

That, and also the commission model XO used, encouraged dishonesty in
sales reps. For a while, reps were paid commish based on value of
contract
signed, *not* based on service delivery or revenues. That, predictably,
caused reps to sell you things that XO can't deliver, or won't deliver
(reps fudging contracts and putting in unapproved pricing, but still
collecting commission). I've been told that this has changed.
Nevertheless, I now have a decent local XO rep, and he knows how to get
things done in XO. I reserve judgement on their wholesale termination
rep,
until they turn up my circuits ;)

Subject: [Asterisk-biz] Complete VSP solution?
Hello,
I'm looking for a solution that'd allow us to offer complete VSP
("Vonage-like") to companies. That is, allow other companies to offer
services (private label). I'm looking for the whole system: Billing,
SIP-user provisioning, switching, hooks to do CPE provisioning, and so
on.
We've already started work and got a simple prototype out, but
estimate it'd take another 6 months to get it to be a polished solution.
So,
we're looking to buy something to save us that time and launch in a
month or
so.
Does anyone here have or know of such a solution? There seem to
be
many companies offering "Become a Vonage-like solution", but no one
seems to
have "Become someone who lets others become a Vonage-like solution".
Thanks,
Michael Giagnocavo
